Wasabi file sourcing

Updated December 21, 2023

How to store your videos on Wasabi and deliver them via SmartVideo

  1. Upload your video to a bucket that has Public Access set to *Default *or Enabled.

  1. After uploading your video, click on the file, click the globe icon to make the file public, and click the clipboard to copy the link.

3a. If you are using our WordPress plugin, simply paste the copied URL in the Video source field (the gif below shows how this is done using our plugin with the new WordPress editor).

Note: If the video file doesn’t seem to be working with the SmartVideo player, check to make sure you made the file public as shown in step 2.

3b. If you are not taking advantage of our WordPress plugin, or are on another CMS platform entirely, simply use the URL you copied in step 2 as the source in a SmartVideo tag.

Note: If the video file doesn’t seem to be working with the SmartVideo player, check to make sure you made the file public as shown in step 2.

And that’s it! 🎉

A few moments after previewing or publishing the page, SmartVideo will download, encode, and store your video on our global delivery network. We recommend keeping the file stored in your Wasabi bucket in case the video is removed from your website by mistake.
