SmartVideo lets you customize the player’s appearance and configure individual video embeds. Color and player styling are available on all plans; a custom video watermark is a Pro feature.
Colors and play button
- Primary (accent) color: Match the player to your brand.
- Glass tint: Adjust how strongly the accent color tints the frosted-glass control bar, menus, and overflow panel.
- Play button shape: Choose a hexagon, circle, or rectangle.
For setup instructions, see Customize player color and Customize play button shape. These theme settings apply across the players on the page, rather than to a single embed.
Individual video options
You can set a poster image, autoplay, muted playback, and looping for an individual <smartvideo> tag. See Basic SmartVideo tag options for examples. Browsers may block autoplay with sound.
You can also show or hide playback controls and set the player’s dimensions. See Advanced SmartVideo tag options.
Custom watermark
The Pro plan includes a custom video watermark, so you can display your logo or another image over the video in the player. AppSumo lifetime deals with five or more redeemed codes also include it. In the WordPress plugin, open SmartVideo > Settings and use Watermark under Player appearance. On other sites, open Configuration in your dashboard, expand Brand logo, turn on Show brand logo on video, and enter your Logo image URL.
