Bought SmartVideo through AppSumo and not quite sure what your lifetime deal includes or where to find everything in your dashboard? This is the quick orientation. It covers what your plan gives you, what to expect in your account, and where the pieces live.
What your lifetime deal includes
Your AppSumo purchase is a lifetime deal (LTD) - you paid once and the account stays yours, with no monthly bill.
- Monthly video views. Each AppSumo code you redeemed adds 100,000 video views per month to your account. If you stacked multiple codes, they add up - so if you redeemed five codes, you’re looking at 500,000 views a month. For most sites that’s far more than you’ll ever use, so hitting the limit is generally nothing to worry about. (A “view” is a video play on your site - not a page load. See What counts as a video view? for the details.)
- The SmartVideo player and CDN. Your videos play through our clean, fast, ad-free player, delivered over our CDN - the whole reason you bought SmartVideo.
- Multiple domains. You can use SmartVideo across your own sites and client sites; there’s plenty of headroom on the LTD tier.
Your views reset every month, and unused views don’t roll over - but on the lifetime tier you’re very unlikely to run out.
One thing your LTD plan does not include: the SmartVideo Library
The SmartVideo Library (uploading video files directly to Swarmify) is not part of the AppSumo lifetime plan. That’s the one feature difference to know about.
It doesn’t stop you from using SmartVideo - you just point it at wherever your videos already live. Supported sources include:
- WordPress Media Library
- Vimeo
- Amazon S3
- Wasabi
- DigitalOcean Spaces
- Publitio
- Dropbox
- pCloud

What you’ll see in the dashboard
Log in at dash.swarmify.com. The two things you’ll use most:
- Your Swarm CDN Key. Found under Configuration, this is the unique key that ties the SmartVideo player on your site to your account. It goes in your install snippet.
- The Configurator. This generates the JavaScript snippet you add to your site’s
<head>to switch the player on.
You won’t see a Video Library upload area, since that’s not part of the LTD plan (see above) - that’s expected, not a problem with your account.
How SmartVideo actually works on your site
There are two pieces:

The JavaScript snippet - add it once to your site’s
<head>(or install the SmartVideo WordPress plugin, which handles this for you). This activates the player and CDN. -
The SmartVideo tag - add this wherever you want a video to appear, pointing at your video source:

A note on your account email
Lifetime deals are tied to the email you used on AppSumo, and that account can’t be transferred to a different person. If you need to change the email address on your own account, email support@swarmify.com from the registered address and we’ll help.
