Short answer: nothing gets shut off, and you won’t see a surprise charge.
Every plan includes a set amount of storage — 1 TB on Startup, 3 TB on Growth, and 5 TB on Pro. If your account grows past that, we’ll work with you to right-size it. That usually means one of:
- Upgrading to a plan with more included storage, if your library is actively growing.
- Clearing out unused videos — we can help you find what’s no longer getting views so you can free up space without changing plans.
- For libraries well beyond our standard plans, a custom storage arrangement.
If you go over your storage allowance, nothing gets shut off, and we don’t automatically add storage overage charges to standard plans. If you stay over, we’ll contact you about a larger plan. What if my library is already bigger than 5 TB?
The 5 TB on Pro is what’s included, not a ceiling. Libraries above it are supported through a custom storage arrangement, and there is no published storage overage rate. Email support@swarmify.com with a rough size so we can quote the terms before you commit. If you already have a negotiated storage arrangement, its agreed billing terms still apply.
View volume is a separate allowance — Pro includes 150,000 views a month. Pricing & plans covers the view side.
Careful: your current host’s storage number won’t map 1:1 to ours
This trips up nearly everyone moving from another platform. If your current host tells you your library is 5.5 TB, don’t assume it’ll be 5.5 TB here.
The reason is that we measure the encoded delivery output — not the original file you uploaded. That includes encoded video files, streaming segments and manifests, and a poster thumbnail. Confirm what your current provider measures before using its number to size a plan here.
Which direction that moves your number depends on how your originals were exported and the delivery files we generate. Heavily compressed source files can grow after processing; lightly compressed, high-bitrate exports can shrink. There is no fixed conversion ratio. The practical move: don’t try to predict it. Bring a representative batch of videos over first, email us for your actual storage figure once they’ve processed, and size your plan from a real number instead of a converted one.
